The evolution of Apollo 7’s mission patch.
At least someone realized it probably wasn’t a good idea to put Wally’s name on a French flag.
Interesting. There’s something to be said for the Phoenix ones…

“And since I know you’re interested, Commander Shepard, here are some baby photos of my new son. And yes, that is the placenta.”

The first and second stages of the SA-204/LM-1 space vehicle being erected at Cape Kennedy’s Launch Complex 37 in preparation for NASA’s first lunar module flight. An instrument unit, lunar module and adapter section will soon be mated to the first stage. The 204 vehicle was transferred from nearby Complex 34. - from the KSC photo archive. This was the Apollo 5 flight.
Cool!

A view from the top of the Saturn Launch Umbilical Tower looking down at the Apollo 11 booster. This view is from a slightly higher vantage point than a similar photo showing the capsule, Launch Escape System, and Mobile Service Structure. Prominent here are swing arms 9, 8, and 7, with the others in descending order below them. Swing arm 9 gave access to the capsule via the White Room. Across from the Service module is a portion of the Mobile Service Structure.
Fantastic shot.

Astronaut wives gather at John Young’s house to follow progress of the Gemini 10 flight, 7/19/66.
Serious: This is a really incredible photo, you can imagine what was going through their heads.
Less-serious: Is that Ms. Conrad with the odd facial expression?
