Keep Moving Forward

I'm nineteen and I'm crazy. Fangirl, scientist and writer. I'm at college in Boston right now, but New York will always be my home. Likes archeology, astronomy, space travel, history, superhero comics, general science, the oceans, Star Wars, mysteries and Disney. (Which is where my title comes from...)

“Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things… and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.”
–Walt Disney

Planning EPCOT: Ray Bradbury, John Hench, Card Walker.
In planning for EPCOT Center, Walt Disney Productions and WED didn’t hesitate on recruiting the best and brightest minds to add credence to their work.
A premier Science Fiction author, Bradbury weighed in on many of the design choices that molded EPCOT, most of them dealing with Spaceship Earth.
However, in this shot, we see Bradbury with Walker and Hench, seated in front of one of the  earliest models for EPCOT Center, in which the “EPCOT Theme Center” (Future World) and the Walt Disney World Showcase were combined into one park.  There’s no spherical or dome shaped icon, yet, but there is a bridge, with spires and contours that seems to be the focal point of the project.
Also fascinating, the art on the walls. Possibly for Spaceship Earth, it shows luridly covered scenes of antiquity, supporting Bradbury’s involvement in planning EPCOT’s forthcoming icon.
….To be a fly on the wall in that room! And I REALLY miss when Disney wanted Ray Bradbury’s approval on their projects. A dynamic and intellectual team…

Are those Robert McCall paintings? They look like they could be.
